Holiday Art Show Fundraiser for Artdc.org
Washington, D.C.--December 2, 2005--Artdc.org is holding a holiday fundraiser at Los Arrieros restaurant, 7926 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, Md., Dec. 8, 2005-Jan. 6, 2006. The opening reception is 7 p.m. Dec. 13. All pieces in the show are priced at $300 or less.
The Los Arrieros show is part of the Gateway Georgia Avenue Progressive Silver Spring ArtWalk, an activity coordinated by the Gateway Georgia Avenue Revitalization Corporation. “The project is a socio-economic development tool intended to assist in the revitalization of the Georgia Avenue corridor in south Silver Spring, as a unique, vibrant and walkable community,” says Gateway Georgia Avenue Revitalization Corporation’s David Fogel.
The work presented in the show is produced by members of artdc.org, a collective of more than 650 artists from the Washington, D.C., area that advocate the nurturing of various artistic communities in the area.
“Artdc aims to bridge the communication between artists of all mediums, galleries and collectors through an online venue,” says founder Jesse Cohen. ”Artdc promotes art communication with bulletin boards, automated galleries and face-to-face meetings.”
The show features many types of 2-D and 3-D art. Artists in the show are Vèrta Reyes, Matt Achhammer, Angela Kleis, Heather Levy, Kim Reyes, Robin Walker, Jessie Marie Maraschiello, Joshua Yospyn, Eric Reiffenstein, Rose Kane, Lola Akinmade, Matt Billings, Erin Antognoli, Andy Cleavenger, Lee Vaughan, John Spaulding, Mara Odette, Virginia Nostrand, Sheffied Burroughs, Christopher Goodwin, Richard Chu, Antoinette Wysocki, Darren Smith, J. Halloran, Behnam Farahpour, Patricia Hartnett, and Stephanie Booth.
Part of the proceeds from sales will aid artdc.org's marketing and promotion efforts.
