JT Kirkland's One Word Book Now Available

"The One Word Project" documents the responses obtained during an online project held at the Web site, Thinking About Art (http://thinkingaboutart.blogs.com). J.T. Kirkland (the Editor) gave each participating artist a single word to which the artist responded with 100-500 words that pertained to the word and their art. In total, 42 artists from across North America participated in the effort and 39 are published in this book. Each artist is represented by their writing and a full color image of their artwork.

To Purchase the book, go to: http://www.lulu.com/content/237106 at Lulu.com.
Many DC area artists participated in this including yours truly!

MODERN RELICS + THE DISEMBODIED SAINT

Evan Morgan is an emerging artist from the Baltimore/Washington area,
graduating this spring from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
He has been dealing with ideas of preservation, more specifically
relics and the ritual surrounding them.
In Modern Relics + The Disembodied Saint
he uses ceramics, glass and mixed media to create a
unique visual vocabulary.

and a theater opening -

SILENT PARTNERS opens this weekend!

Scena Theatre presents the World Premiere of SILENT PARTNERs,
written and directed by distinguished playwright and author
Charles Marowitz. Marowitz's new play is a brilliant distillation
of the first meeting, ensuing collaboration and relationship
between master playwright Bertold Brecht and Eric Bentley,
his American translator and helper.

The play is based on the Eric Bentley memoir THE BRECHT MEMOIR a
nd it charts the arrival of one of the greatest theatre geniuses
to work in both Hollywood and Washington DC during wartime.
An acerbic and oftentimes scathingly funny portrait of two men
as they come on a collision course!
